I’m struggling with how to start the review for recently shown We are the Flesh at Fantasia Fest 2016 in Montreal. The reason I’m struggling is because the movie, in my opinion, was a complete and utter piece of shit. Yet, people all over the internet are raving about it and even Arrow Video got the rights for it. Maybe I’m not in on the joke, but I can’t see why anyone would like this movie. It’s obsessively obscene and reeks of artsy-fartsy bullshit. Maybe some people enjoy watching incest, men masturbating, full frontal uncomfortable nudity, and a plot that makes not a lick of sense. I, on the other hand, enjoy my movies to be entertaining.
Plot Summary
After wandering a ruined city for years in search of food and shelter, two siblings find their way into one of the last remaining buildings. Inside, they find a man who will make them a dangerous offer to survive the outside world.
Review/Verdict
If you enjoy We are the Flesh, great. I would rather spend my time on more constructive and enjoyable stuff, like watching my nails grow.
