Unknown Movie Review

Release: 2011, Rating: PG-13, Runtime: 113 min.

I love movies with a mystery and Unknown is chock full of them. Right from the start it will leave guessing as to what is going on and come the end, I think you’ll be left pleased. Read on for the quick review…

Short nitty-gritty plot description from IMDb is as follows: A man awakens from a coma, only to discover that someone has taken on his identity and that no one, (not even his wife), believes him. With the help of a young woman, he sets out to prove who he is.

I want to make this a pretty damn short review, as there isn’t much to be said about the movie Unknown. That isn’t to say it’s a bad movie (it isn’t) or good movie (it is), but it’s just that I don’t want to spoil anything about the movie, as the main appeal going in, is to be blind as a bat and not know what is going to happen next.

What I can tell you, is the acting is fantastic as always from Liam Neeson and the movie has a good helping of action, violence and intrigue. It has several twist and turns and doesn’t once feel boring. There are a couple moments where things are left, not I would say unexplained, but only slightly touched upon and it took me out of the movie for a moment and left me asking questions out loud. Also, I’m not entirely sure how the ending we got is going to be anything but bad for our main character. Fingerprints man, fingerprints!

I have to say this is a pretty damn short review, but I hope it just goes to show, that you should check out Unknown and give it a watch. It’s a tight thriller, that sends you down a twisty road. It’s currently available on Netflix and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
