Michael Ironside out in new Splinter Cell: Blacklist game.

The newly announced Splinter Cell: Blacklist is missing something big.  The latest news is that Michael Ironside, the voice of Sam Fisher, is out and Smallville actor and fellow Canadian Eric Johnson is taking over.

No disrespect to Eric Johnson, but Michael Ironside IS Sam Fisher.

I’m sorry Ubisoft, but if you don’t fix this issue you’re going to piss off a lot of fans. The same fans that are gearing up to spend their hard earned money on the latest Splinter Cell game.

Not wise, Ubi. Not wise at all.

I cant speak to Ironside versus Johnson but from the game play shown during E3, this looks awesome. It should be quit fluid once the controls are mastered. Pre-ordered…..can't wait.

Don't get me wrong, I've already pre ordered the game, but it's going to take a lot to get over no Ironside.

I do agree though that it looks awesome and I'm glad it's coming to the PS3, unlike Conviction.

After watching the trailers and a bit of gameplay, I'll admit that SC Blacklist looks pretty, but…that's about it. Sorry, but you can't just change the voice actor of such an iconic character after over a decade. It's not Sam Fisher without Michael Ironside, and it's not Splinter Cell without Sam Fisher. And if there's no Splinter Cell, then Ubi's got some sh*t going down.
In short, I'm not going to get Blacklist until they release a DLC with Ironside dubbing over the lines.

I just finished the game not too long ago and I'll have a review up. Spoiler alert, I loved the game, but man it takes a lot to get over no Michael Ironside. It just doesn't feel like the Sam Fisher we know and love, which is a big shame, as the game is fantastic.
