Books

Bought for $2

God I love novelizations and this week, I hit the mother load. In fact, I have a couple more that I’m saving for next week. As you can see though, I picked up Die Hard with a Vengeance and I couldn’t be happier.

Synopsis: Simon says all fall
down. Simon says everybody dies. McClane says die hard. A mad bomber is
terrorizing the city. But New York has a weapon of its own–Detective
John McClane. Based on the towering action movie coming in May 1995 from
20th Century Fox starring Bruce Willis, Jeremy Irons and Samuel L.
Jackson.

Another novelization and this time it’s an awesome Stallone movie!

Synopsis: As accurate and
explosive as a sniper’s bullet, this novel tells the story of two master
assassins–one older, softer, burnt-out, the other, younger, harder,
relentlessly ambitious. Pitted against each other on a job, the older
assassin falls in love wit the woman they’ve hired to kill, and–by
double-crossing his contractor–finds a way to exit the business
forever.

Bought for $11

Another graphic novel collection of the comic book Hellraiser series, for a great price!

Synopsis: Hell has come home as Clive Barker returns to writing his signature creation!

We
pick up after the devastating battle between Captain Elliott Spencer
and Kirsty Cotton that literally tore a world apart. The fight may have
stopped, but thereā€™s still no peace. Change is the only constant in the
new world of HELLRAISER!

Action Figures

Bought for $13

The Arkham series of figures look great and I couldn’t pass up this amazing looking Batman figure.

Description: Direct to you from the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum
video game, this Batman Arkham Asylum Batman Action Figure features
multiple points of articulation and comes with a display base. Caped
Crusader accessories are also included, along with 4-color clamshell
blister-card packaging. The Dark Knight stands over 6 3/4-inches tall,
poised to clean up Arkham City once and for all!

After arriving on Arkham Island, Batman is greeted by Warden Sharp and
security personnel. Although the Joker is securely strapped to a
handcart for transfer to the deepest bowels of Arkham, he escapes
nonetheless, and this is going to be the worst night of Batman’s life.
With the Joker free, inciting unrest among the inmates, Batman faces a
riot from a cadre of Gotham City’s most-wanted killers and psychopaths
who are screaming for vengeance and out for bloodā€¦ Batman’s blood. His
mission? Stop the Joker and his accomplices, at all costs!

Bought for $13

The Universal Monsters figures are pretty amazing looking and they come with some great accessories.

Description: The monsters are back again!
The award-winning Universal Monsters Select line expands its roster of
iconic screen legends with perhaps the most sympathetic creature of them
all: Frankenstein’s Monster. Sculpted by legendary monster sculptor
Gabriel Marquez, this 7-inch tall Frankenstein Action Figure comes with
the lab table upon which the monster was given life and from which he
rose for the first time. Bring Mary Shelley’s monster to life in your
home!

The fans have already spoken, hailing this line as the most
detailed and accurate depiction of the classic Universal Monsters ever,
and this 7-inch interpretation of Frankenstein’s Monster is
proof-positive of Diamond Select’s dedication to bringing these iconic
monsters to collectors. The specialty market version includes an
exclusive paint scheme, as well as a detailed accessory not available to
the mass market!

Movies

Bought for $5

I will admit, I didn’t like the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, but $5 for the Blu-ray, with some special features, I figured, what’s the worst that could happen…

Synopsis: A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who
wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people
in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.

OMG I need to find that Arkham Batman figure for hubby! Great find there! (I'd LOOOOOOVE the Die Hard novels!… didn't know that they existed!) Mr. Skinny Geek is super excited about Batman Arkham Origins this week!

They have a big line of Arkham figures and they all look great. I'm sure he would love them. šŸ™‚

I just adore novelizations (it's like getting an extended version of your favorite movie). I don't know if there are anymore novelizations of the Die Hard movies, or if this is the only one.

Yes, Arkham Origins looks to be great. I can't wait to get it as well. šŸ™‚

Thanks for the comment Desiree.
