Hellbound Hearts: Sister Cilice Short Story Review
Short Story: “Sister Cilice”
A gripping origin story about a fan favorite Cenobite. Sister Cilice is a page turner and one that any Hellraiser fan should read. Read on to find out why…
Sister Cilice tells the origins of the Female Cenobite, from Hellraiser 1 & 2. It’s written by Barbie Wilde, the actress who played her in Hellbound: Hellraiser II and I can’t think of anyone else that would be better to write it. She weaves a nice tale about a nun who has plenty of unpure thoughts. Sister Nikoletta’s desire becomes too much for her to handle, so she seeks out pleasures that can only come from the Order of the Gash (Cenobites).
I really enjoyed the story of Sister Cilice. I’ve always enjoy origin stories and with this one so far being the only one that is related to the movies, instead of the novella, it’s definitely a highlight in the collection. The only complaint I have, which honestly can also be seen as a postive, is I would’ve preferred the story be a little longer, as it’s fairly short. Still, this story is one that makes it a worthwhile reason to pick up this book.
